About me Blogmas 2020

Getting to know me.

Hello! Welcome! You know the drill by now, day 18. Want more blogmas goodness you can find the link to the last post at the bottom of the page or search blogmas 2020 on my blog to find the rest of the posts.

So today I thought I would answer some questions and introduce myself properly. I found a post Ashleigh Bekkah did over on her blog and I thought it would be perfect! I’m going to answer the questions as simply as possible though I may elaborate a little, who knows!

Books

Can you stop reading at any time, or does it have to be a certain page or chapter?

So I have a page goal of 100 pages a day so I normally stop around there though I make sure to stop at the end of a paragraph. If I’m a couple of pages away from the end of a chapter I do normally just read till the end of that.

Do you eat or drink anything whilst reading?

I don’t have a particular rule though I’m not against it. Normally water or coffee.

Can you read listening to music or watching TV?

I listen to music normally, something relaxing that’s more just background noise. Right now I’m obsessed with lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to. It’s a live stream that’s constantly on and it’s amazing for background music. Though I can’t watch TV, it’s just a distraction.

One book at a time, or several at once?

One, always one. I don’t have the attention or the time to be giving 2 books my full attention.

Reading at home or everywhere?

Anywhere. I do a lot of reading at work as I work in retail and it’s normally super slow. I also love reading in the garden when it’s warm.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

In my head. I used to read out loud when I was younger but I quickly grew out of this.

Do you read ahead, or skip pages?

Oooh. Interesting. So I try to read as normal but if I’m bored of a book I will maybe skip a couple of pages ahead. I also always skip to the last page before starting to read a book and read the last line. I know, I’m awful!

Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

Break the spine. A book is almost impossible to read if you don’t!

Do you write books, or just read them?

Just read. I can’t write to save my life.

5 of my favourite books: (In no particular order)

  1. Ready Player one – Ernest Cline
  2. The Diary of a Bookseller – Shaun Bythell
  3. Cirque Du Freak – Darren Shan
  4. Carry on – Rainbow Rowell

What is the last book you read?

The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. I’ve been in a really bad slump lately so that was on the 19th of November.
