Welcome to day 22 of blogmas! As always the post from yesterday is linked at the bottom of the page and you can search Blogmas 2020 on my blog and you’ll get the whole list of posts.
So I was looking for an idea of what to do today and I discovered this tag. It was perfect. I’m not a religious person but I do find this sort of thing fascinating so I knew this was something I wanted to do. I found this on Berries & Books.
What is The Most Expensive Book You Own?
I bought Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter a couple of years ago and this was definitely the most expensive. I love Hamilton so much and the book is just a thing of beauty. When I reorganized my bookshelf I didn’t want to put this book on the bottom shelf with my large non fiction books so it’s currently just sitting in the middle of my fiction shelfs.
What Book(s) Have You Shamelessly Devoured Many Times?
The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket is obviously one of my all time fav books, I’ve spoken about it often and pretty much everyone knows this is my all time favourite book. It’s also one of the few books I’ve read more then once.
What Book/Series Have You Neglected Over Sheer Laziness?
Writings by Alexander Hamilton, Joanne B. Freeman (Editor). This is a long book, at 1108 pages, so it’s definitely going to be an event and the issue with that is it’s not exactly the kind of book I can read and then write a blog post about. So I would have to read this book as well as a shorter book I could write about.
What Books(s) Do You Bring Up When You Want To Sound Like An Intelligent Reader?
I slip in the fact I’ve read IT by Stephen King and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee as often as I possibly can, especially when I speak to other bookish people. I mean I did actually read these books but I feel like that’s kind of a badge of honour.
What Attributes Do You Find Most Attractive In Characters?
Realistic unperfectness. I see a lot of books where the Author will write a character with an attitude problem or an old injury and claim the characters aren’t perfect and yet they’re the only two things. I feel like if you’re going to give me an unperfect character I want someone on their knees.
What Books Would You Most Like To Receive As a Gift?
Well with it being this close to Christmas I would really like Ready Player Two or maybe Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops. Both of them I would be happy with.
What Author(s) Do You Have a Love/Hate Relationship With?
How could a woman who created something as amazing as Harry Potter spurt such shit on Twitter?
Check out my last blog post here where I talked about the Young Writers Award 2020 and maybe consider subscribing to my newsletter on the right.
